Families

Today I went to visit my brother Toehead. Now Toehead isn’t his real name but he came by it naturally. His youngest daughter and my wife both had surgery this past week. They were both outpatient procedures and for different reasons. Everything went good for both and is recovering in comfort at home. I had been planning to go to Toeheads house for the past few weeks to go through a lot of papers and memorabilia about our dad. Now our dad was a prominent artist recognized for many, many things. He passed away July, 2004 and left our family with enough memories, laughs, tears, and stories that make us so happy to have the parents we had. Our mom died 50 days before him in 2004. The reason I wanted to post this article is to say to all you family’s out there, “Love One Another”. Sure we all have fights, hell I pissed my dad off one time and he didn’t speak to me for three years. My brother made my mom cry because he could not walk up three stairs while I sat on the floor and laughed, couldn’t talk, but laughed. That’s still one of my sister’s favorite stories talking to our mother crying on the phone saying to her, “Well mom you couldn’t put them both together and have a complete person”. Those days were long ago and we became perfect sons and she would have told you.
The thing is rich or poor black or white our family is who we are, and you can see a little piece of it in each family member. The family moves on as one machine generation after generation adding new parts here and there losing some as wear and tear takes its toll. Some have to be fixed and some have to be replaced, but it is one machine made of so many parts. Loving each other all the time is a very hard task to accomplish. But when your soul needs to be touched or healed, the ability to love that was placed in your heart before you were born can and should be the first thought that makes you glad to be a part of your family.

Briscoe Talking Back

Talking Back is here to discuss everyday gripes by everyday aggravations. The subject matter is open for anything except sex and or pornography. Now in yours or my post I don’t want to hear, “That’s Stupid”, “Your Ignorant”, or any of the typical other clichés that do not serve a purpose. I want to hear about the subject matter, opinions, solutions, causes, fixes, or ways to make change happen. There are many things that happen every day which annoy someone somewhere. Some are silly and some are serious, but aggravation is real and can be life threatening in some cases. Aggravation plays a major role in everyone’s health and attitude. Some people are just afraid to Talk Back for fear of being laughed at, and some are afraid of being persecuted for their opinions. So open up America, let’s discuss some of our gripes!!
